A Program Designed for Internal Product Owners

Move beyond managing requests to delivering strategic business value.

You’re caught in the middle.

Between conflicting stakeholder demands.

Between strategy you don’t set and teams who need your support.

Between shifting priorities, organizational politics, and unclear authority.

If you’re a Product Owner in an internal-facing role, this probably sounds familiar.

The problem isn’t you.

It’s that most Product Owner training assumes you’re building for external customers. Visionary products. Market traction. Growth hacking.

But what if your users are in accounting, engineering, or ops? What if your backlog is full of must-haves from different VPs, and your success depends on navigating power dynamics, not pitching new features?

This Advanced Certified Product Owner course is designed for you.

What You’ll Learn

We’ve redesigned our A-CSPO program to meet the real needs of internal Product Owners. Over the course of the program, you’ll learn how to:

1. Understand Purpose, Stakeholders, and Customers

Clarify your team’s “why,” who it serves, and how to proactively engage stakeholders.

2. Move from Feature Request to Problem Discovery

Learn to lead interviews that uncover valuable insights—even when you’re not customer-facing.

3. Model and Communicate Value

Move beyond vague priorities and politics. Develop shared language for making decisions that deliver real impact.

4. Build for Complexity

Use advanced tools like Feature Mining and the CAPED framework to chart a path through uncertainty.

5. Test Assumptions, Not Just Features

Design fast, lightweight experiments that validate ideas and reduce wasted effort.

6. Make the Work Visible

Use a purpose-driven roadmap and the PO board model to show what’s happening, what’s coming next, and why.

Why This Matters

Being an internal Product Owner doesn’t mean your role has to be low leverage.

In fact, done right, it’s one of the most impactful roles in an organization.

This course will help you shift from backlog manager to strategic facilitator—without needing to own the whole company vision.

You’ll leave with practical tools, expert coaching, and a community of peers doing similar work in complex, internal-facing contexts.

“This course has given me methods of thinking and tangible skills and tools which I use every week. There is a welcome focus on forming and validating business strategy. Highly recommend!” – Bradley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A Fresh Approach

What does an Agile approach to advanced training look like?

  • It’s iterative
  • It’s delivered in small slices with validation along the way
  • It’s collaborative, with small teams working together to continuously improve
  • It’s focused on delivering the highest value first, inspecting and adapting along the way

Our A-CSPO program is firmly grounded in these Agile principles. Rather than a “big batch” delivery of content, we break the training up into small slices of content with practice in between.

Learn alongside, and work with, other A-CSPO qualified Product Owners from various industries in a cohort-style virtual class. Practice concepts from the class with your team each week and help each other level up.

“This course provides the next level of Product Owner skills in a way that is easy to learn, but more importantly, easy to apply.” – Heather ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Upping Your Game

Here’s what to expect.

We meet virtually, every Friday, in a six-week cohort-based program.

Far from some boring slides and a lecture, we’ve designed these virtual sessions to be every bit as interactive and engaging as our in-person, brain-friendly training approach that thousands of clients have come to know and love.

We integrate our Training from the Back of the Room approach to virtual learning to help you learn new concepts in a way that really sticks. Best of all, the virtual sessions are just a kick-off for the week.

Each session ends with an invitation to practice the new concepts with your team or organization, and the next session always starts with a review of your experience during the week.

Think of each week as a learning sprint, planned during the virtual session, executed during the week, reviewed at the beginning of the next one.

  • Includes A-CSPO certification through Scrum Alliance
  • Private cohorts available for company teams

“I am always frustrated by courses that introduce ideals without helping you understand the tradeoffs and pragmatic realities that will need to be considered along the way. This course really nailed the balance between information that both inspires you to do your work better and more enjoyably, and also gets you to put those ideas into practice so you can make them your own.” – Thomas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This course is not for everyone.

It is for people serious about upping their game around great Product Ownership. It requires a commitment to be present and practice before and during the program. The cohort participants help each other get better and they develop a strong connection and a lasting network of like-minded Product thinkers.

Commonly Asked Questions.

Do I have to have my CSPO certification already to do A-CSPO?

Yes, A-CSPO builds on CSPO, and Scrum Alliance requires that the courses and certifications be done in order. However, your CSPO doesn’t have to be from us. Our A-CSPO prerequisite assessment and online course will ensure all participants start the program with the same concepts and skills.

Why take your A-CSPO training with us?

Unlike some other A-CSPO courses, we use accelerated learning techniques to maximize learning and retention (this is extremely rare for online courses, in particular).

What is there beyond A-CSPO?

The A-CSPO is part of the Scrum Alliance Path to CSP program. The Scrum Alliance has additional information and available certifications options on their website here.
